2. PROJECT PROFILE

Vitebsk Hydropower Plant, located on Zapadnaya Dvina River, with a distance of 10 km from Vitebsk City, is the actual largest hydropower plant in Belarus. For its construction, China Development Bank provides buyer’s credit.
The project makes power generation as its main purpose, and also takes shipping into account. The main buildings consist of: earth dam on the left bank, ship lock, release sluice, main powerhouse, 110 kV switchyard, and earth dam on the right bank. The hydropower plant is riverbed type. The normal water level is 139 m. The installed capacity is 40 MW (4 sets of 10 MW bulb tubular turbine generator). The rated head is 9.1 m, the axis length of the dam is 656.2 m, and the maximum height is 30.7 m.
The power station is directly connected to Belarus national power grid by a voltage of 154 kV. The power station is facilitated with a switch station which is located at left side of the upstream of the main powerhouse.
3. MAJOR SCOPE OF WORKS UNDERTAKEN BY CNEEC
CNEEC is the EPC Contractor. The scope of works includes design, construction, procurement, installation, commissioning, test, trial operation, technical service during warrant period, personnel training, etc..
